How to text to the US From Email

  •  Find out the ten digit cellular phone number of the person you want to text. This must be a cellular phone. Texting does not work with land line phones. You must have all ten digits including the area code. Knowing the cell phone carrier of the person you are texting is helpful but not essential.
  • Open you email program and compose your message. Keep it to 160 characters or less. If you type in any more it wont fit in a single text message. Anything you type in the subject line counts toward your character total.
  • If the person you are texting has service with AT&T, address the text message to the ten digit cellular phone number then "@txt.att.net".
  • If the person you are texting has service with Verizon, address the text message to the ten digit cellular phone number then "@vtext.com".
  • If the person you are texting has service with Sprint, address the text message to the ten digit cellular phone number then "@messaging.sprintpcs.com".
  • If the person you are texting has service with T-Mobile, address the text message to the ten digit cellular phone number then "@tmomail.net".
  • If the person you are texting has service with Alltel, address the text message to the ten digit cellular phone number then "@message.alltel.com".
